The test strip shows one or less red dots.
The water has a hardness of 1 - 7°
Set the water hardness to 1.
The test strip shows two red dots.
Set the water hardness to 2.
The test strip shows three red dots.
The water has a hardness of 15 -21°
Set the water hardness to 3.
The test strip shows four or more red dots.
The water has a hardness of > 21°
Set the water hardness to 4.
Caution: The machine may only be operated with a CLARIS fresh water filter
The filter may only be used via the filter program - not
before! Also, insert it straight and do not overtighten.
In the SETTINGS / CARE menu (press the on/off button three times)
Use the - / + controller buttons to select the GREEN colour code and press the On / Off button briefly to switch to the Change Filter menu.
(On/Off button will blink GREEN).
When using the machine with a filter, the water tank must be started and the filter changed.
and when changing the filter,
the water tank must be filled to the maximum mark.
Set the bar of the status LED fully to the right on the + symbol and confirm by pressing the on/off button.

Make sure the red filter valve is in the new filter!
- Take out the water tank.

Gently screw the new filter with the installation tool on the end of the measuring spoon into the
into the holder in the water tank (see picture).

Fill the water tank with fresh, cold, noncarbonated water (not mineral water)
(not mineral water) to the maximum mark in the water tank and replace the tank
and replace the reservoir.
Do not fill with other liquids or carbonated beverages,
or the warranty will be void!

Insert the hot water funnel (see picture) into the brew position on the right.
- Move the lever down to the brew position until it clicks.
- Place a sufficiently large container (≥ 0.3 l) under the hot water funnel

Press the cup symbol

Wait until no more water comes out of the hot water funnel,
then empty the vessel

Open the brewing unit by pressing the lever up

Remove the hot water funnel
